Excellent ratings for 'Cantina Privata Boscaini' crus

Masi Agricola, the historic Valpolicella winery that boasts more than 250 years of winemaking, is adding to its fame on the world wine scene, once again distinguishing itself with top ratings from international critics. Numerous prestigious awards have been given to its Amarones and other fine wines inspired by the values of the Venetian regions: first and foremost, the Cantina Privata Boscaini range- a unique collection of precious crus and great vintages of Amarone which has received enthusiastic praise.

The elegant Campolongo di Torbe 2013 confirms the excellence of the Vaio dei Masi vineyard area. In fact, the authoritative American magazine Wine Enthusiast gave this wine 97/100 and voted it one of the top 10 of the "Top 100 Cellar Selections" - its ranking of the world's best wines for ageing. The famous English magazine Decanter includes it in its "Expert's Choice: Valpolicella" with a rating of 96. Three publications: Vinous, founded by the critic Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate, founded by the influential American critic Robert Parker, and the Wein Guide 2024 from Falstaff, the leading magazine in German-speaking countries, all award it 95 points. And Sarah Heller, Master of Wine, gives it 93/100 for the exclusive Club Oenologique community. Campolongo’s triumph culminates with 98 points in 'DoctorWine 2024', part of the tenth edition of Daniele Cernilli's Essential Guide to the Wines of Italy.
The superb Mazzano 2013, an austere and majestic Amarone from Cantina Privata Boscaini, receives 96 points from the famous American magazine Wine Spectator; 94 from The Wine Advocate, 93 from Vinous and 92 from Club Oenologique.
Mazzano 2013 has also been selected to represent Italy at the 42nd edition of the "New York Wine Experience", the most coveted and exclusive annual event in the wine world, organised by Wine Spectator. Masi is in fact present among the 260 premium brands worldwide chosen by the authoritative Critics’ Choice for the 2023 event, which also marks the growing importance of Italy with 60 wineries chosen, on a par with France.

Riserva Costasera 2017, a complex Amarone enhanced with a percentage of Oseleta - the ancient Veronese grape variety rediscovered by Masi – can also be found among the most acclaimed wines. It gets 95/100 points in the Falstaff Wein Guide; 94 from Club Oenologique; 5 Grappoli from Bibenda 2024 - the Italian Sommelier Foundation's guide - and Tre Stelle Oro, the highest award in the Guida Oro I Vini di Veronelli. American critic James Suckling rated it 96/100 and, in collaboration with Luciano Ferraro of Corriere della Sera, included it in I migliori 100 vini e vignaioli d'Italia. In the same guide 'Mister Amarone' Sandro Boscaini is acclaimed as one of the 100 wine personalities of the year.
Oseleta enhances and characterises other Masi wines too: Osar 2016 – which is made from 100% Oseleta – gets the highest recognition of Tre Stelle Oro from the Guida Oro I Vini di Veronelli , while The Wine Advocate gives 90/100 to Brolo Campofiorin 2018. Falstaff Wein Guide gives the same wine 92 points and praises Toar 2019 too.
As far as wines from the Possessioni di Serego Alighieri are concerned: Vaio Armaron 2015 was awarded 95/100 by James Suckling; 92 by The Wine Advocate and 94 by Club Oenologique. The 2016 vintage was awarded 96/100 by DoctorWine 2024. Montepiazzo 2018 gets 90/100 from The Wine Advocate. Possessioni Rosso 2020 and Bianco 2022 get excellent scores from Wine Enthusiast and the New York International Wine Competition.
Masi has been voted one of the 50 best Italian wineries of the year in the ranking compiled by the international magazine Food & Wine and receives 5 stars from the Falstaff Wein Guide as "a winery that consistently produces exceptional quality, only possible in the country's best terroirs. The company is one of the best in the world and enjoys suitable international recognition and acclaim for its outstanding performance". Masi is also yet again confirmed as one of the Made in Italy ambassadors chosen by Wine Spectator among the 131 Italian wineries admitted to Opera Wine at Vinitaly 2024. It has had this honour since the first edition in 2012 and this year will have on tasting the exceptional 2006 vintage of Riserva Costasera (93 WS points).
